Our Curriculum

Learning Support Centre

The Learning Support Centre provides assistance to students who have been diagnosed with a disability. Modified curriculum programs or Educational Adjustment Programs (EAPs) are implemented as appropriate. These plans enable identified students to access the curriculum, achieve curriculum outcomes and participate in the life of the school.  The LSU is staffed by 1.6 teachers and teacher aides.  Advisory Visiting Teachers also work with students with learning disabilities.

The Learning Support Centre also provides comprehensive literacy support for indigenous students.  Funding for this initiative is drawn from the Indigenous Tutorial Assistance Scheme (ITAS).  The purpose of ITAS funding is to provide supplementary tutorial assistance to improve educational outcomes of indigenous students.

Learning assistance is also provided as in-class support where school resources allow.

‘Every student can learn – just not on the same day, or the same way’
