Text, Equipment and Resource Scheme

Wynnum State High School operates a Text, Equipment and Resources Scheme (TER) for all year levels. For students participating in the scheme, the school provides all prescribed textbooks, class sets, notes, booklets, student worksheets and the like for the students’ classroom and subject needs.  The Student Planner and ID card are also provided as a part of the scheme, as is the annual school magazine at the end of the year.

There is a discount for families with three or more students in the TER Scheme.  Stationery items are excluded from the scheme and will need to be purchased by the student.

The cost of sport activities is not included in the TER Scheme.  Students are responsible for the cost of sporting events occuring outside the school; the cost of transport to and from, as well as the cost of venue entry, for the sport of their choice.  Students have to pay for buses to attend interschool sports events and certain recreational activities cost money.  A full cost breakdown for each sport is given to all students before sign-up at the beginning of each sport season.  Sport fees are payable at the commencement of each season.

Certain subject areas have full day/half day school excursions and field trips. The cost of these activities is not included in the TER Scheme. Excursions are very valuable learning tools as they provide students with practical and real learning experiences. Written notification of excursions and field trips is given to parents and carers. Students will be advised the cost of the field trip at least one month prior to the date of the excursion.

All total school debts must be paid, all text resources returned in good order and all Library resources returned before a clearance can be issued to collect the annual school magazine.

The TER Scheme is voluntary, although the majority of families choose to join because of its convenience and obvious financial benefits to parents and students.

Parents who choose not to join the TER Scheme will be required to pay parent contributions and to purchase the necessary textbook requirements for classes.  A full list of year level requirements can be obtained by contacting the school.  The Government Textbook and Resource Allowance cheque will be forwarded to these parents.  Students not in the TER Scheme will also need to purchase the Student Planner and ID card. They can purchase their magazine after all other school debts and Library resources adn outstanding Library fines have been paid.
